Cloud Based Spam Filters
Social engineering, in an IT context, is when hackers try and manipulate and deceive others by pretending to be someone they are not, in effort to; gain access to networks, funds or contact info of the C – suite (CEO’s COO’s, CFO’s) or other sensitive, proprietary information. Social engineering can occur in a variety of methods but email is one of the most popular. That is why spam filters are so important but not all spam filters are made equal. If you run any size of company or business you should have a corporate grade, cloud based spam filter. Cloud based spam filters hold known IP addresses and domain names of spammers, they also read the contents of the email to judge if it is suspicious or not. If there is a match the email is held in quarantine and a notification is sent to the user altering them to possible spam. Being held in a cloud based quarantine means there is no risk to your network. See the below Able IT Insight to learn more.
